Not my favorite. I kind of chalk it up to "Double Tap" kind of all over the place and no real substance to it. I loved the last book, gave me my Lani Lynn Vale fix I like to get.

I loved Miller. I loved Mercy. I especially loved seeing the appearance of Sam from her first book. Which is why I really love her novels, the series may be separate but all the characters are somehow tied to each other. I felt like the story line itself was very inconsistent and things would jump randomly. There was a lot of continuity issues and I think that's because of the constant jumping around. After they consummated their relationship it was assumed that they were still consummating but then while they're on vacation they decide to take their relationship to the next level...I also felt there was a lot of build up towards moments that you expected to take the story somewhere. Like they were worried about what people in the town would think about them being pregnant...and then nothing even went there with that.
One moment that really bugged me, I can't explain why, was at the end when they were driving home after the auction and in Mercy's thoughts she was complaining about how Miller is never rough with her, and always gives excuses when she asks for it. Then when she blows up at him, he says all she had to do was ask (as if she never did before)...she did...at least that's what her inner thoughts said. It was those types of inconsistencies that didn't help the book.
For some reason the chapters would end on a note that something was going to happen and nothing did or was really poorly explained in the next, like a recap. To me it was kind of pointless to make it seem bigger than it was if it wasn't going to be given proper attention to.

Another thing that I love about Vale's books while it may seem over the top, are the crazy moments the women sometimes get into or behave. They're fun, they're loose and not proper and I just didn't see that anywhere in this story. Same with Double Tap which probably didn't help my opinion of that book either. I loved that we got to see the bond of brothers between the Spurlock men.

This story had great potential, just could have been better.

Execution Style Code 11 KPD SWAT Book 4 edition by Lani Lynn Vale Romance eBooks Reviews

These books are so addicting! I read them all quickly as they have a little bit of everything in them and are laugh out loud funny. That said, this one missed the mark.

I was so looking forward to this book but something was off. People have mentioned the "flow" and I have to agree. There were also some inconsistencies.

One thing that I can't seem to get past no matter how many of these books I read is how I get really into a scene and then a new chapter starts. For example, Miller will be in a life or death situation and you read faster to see what happens and then the chapter ends. So you continue on to see what happens and the chapter starts off with Miller talking his brother and you are thinking what the hell happened and then a couple pages later in one paragraph he will explain how the situation panned out.
It is so anti-climatic. I think I'm just going to have to come to grips that this is the authors style. Definitely hard to get used too. I'm sure my explanation didn't help but it is hard to explain. Read the sample and you will know.

Overall, an okay book. Not her best. I wish I had a little more background info on Mercy. Her business and how she came about it is incredible and I think it should have been given more attention. However this book definitely focuses way more on Miller and his job. Like 80/20.

At the end of the day I'm looking forward to Foster's story because it has the potential to be absolutely incredible with how it was set up in this book.
I fell in love with Trance's brothers and was excited to read their books, but this on was...rough.
1. Plan B is not an abortion pill. It will not end an existing pregnancy. It literally just stops implantation. I'm disappointed this book equated it to an abortion pill several times.
2. I didn't like Mercy's reasoning for having sex with Miller for the first time. Cleft chins are a dominant trait. She would have known if that was his child or not.
3. The suspense seemed a little phoned in for this one.
4. I can't keep this cameo character appearances straight!
To begin with I love Lani Lynn Vale books and have reread them several times. Execution Style was completely more then what I expected, we were introduced to Mercy in Bang Switch and we met Miller in Kevlar To My Vest. When you start reading Miller is a SWAT officer and Macy is in a bad situation from a former boyfriend. As you read, you will feel the trauma that Macy has to struggle with and how Miller stands beside her through it all.
Miller might seem like a laid back man on the outside, but piss him off, or violate his trust, and he’ll show you the meaning of pain.
He was a Navy SEAL. He could kill a man a hundred different ways and not break a sweat.
He’s also a police officer and member of the SWAT team, which means he has the knowledge and skills to get away with it.
Rage boils in his gut when he witnesses what happens to the beautiful Mercy Shepherd during a SWAT op from hell that even his worst nightmare couldn't conjure up. And it surprises the hell out of him when she wants him, and him only, to comfort her in the aftermath.
Miller becomes the one shining beacon of light at the bottom of Mercy’s pit of despair.
The one man that could pull her through the rough days ahead and make her whole again.
And during her road back to herself, she realizes that she’s got the one thing she ever wanted in life…a hero to call her own.
